About REMO

Remo History
The history of Remo goes back to 1951! The brothers Camille and Gustaaf D'Huyvetter started a chicken slaughterhouse in Brecht-Centrum and a shop in the Dambruggestraat in Antwerp. They already delivered hundreds of chickens per week to Chinese restaurants in Antwerp – Centrum.
In 1963, the company REMO was founded, derived from Camille's son Remon and Gustaaf's daughter Monique. Raymond also did international transport to Germany with live chickens.
In 1973 the chicken slaughterhouse moved to the new location at Tilburgbaan 75 in Brecht.
In 1990 the slaughtering activities were stopped. A new warehouse was built at the current location. They switched to buying and selling fresh meat and poultry, combined with a whole range of products for Chinese restaurants.
In 1984, Raymond's wife Liliane joined the business. Until the end of 2017, they jointly headed this flourishing business.
After more than 50 years, the time was ripe for rejuvenation. In 2018, Sarah Anthoni and Johan Julien took over the helm.
REMO delivers weekly to more than 200 Chinese restaurants and catering businesses spread across Flanders and Wallonia.
